A: Polyfilax is a revolutionary material similar to what was originally developed for the NASA space program for a

Q: Is Polyfilax the same thing as ‘Memory Foam’?
A: Yes, they are essentially the same. However, Polyfilax is far superior to memory foam in many ways. It is a soy based product (most memory foams are petroleum based, which makes them have a gas like odor.)
Polyfilax is also a “slow recovery material” which makes it more conforming and comfortable than regular memory foam.
Q: What is a Lever Spring Support System?
A: The Lever Support System is a series of spring wires connected to flexible rods imbedded beneath the Polyfilax layer to create support on demand. As the heavier parts of the body depress into the mattress, the levers push back to support the adjacent areas, such as the small of the back and the neck.
It works like a “see-saw”. If you push down on one side, the opposite side lifts up, thereby creating more support in the areas of need. It is the Lever-Spring System that allows the Supple-Pedic to give the best back support, body conformity, and consequentially the lowest body pressures. Q: What is the National Flame Proof Law?
A: This law was introduced in January of 2005, and became a national law on July 1, 2007. It mandates that all consumer mattress be made flame proof, in such a way that they can withstand an open flame blowtorch for 70 seconds and not ignite for a period of 30 minutes afterwards.

Q: Why is a doctors prescription required to purchase a Supple-Pedic mattress?
A: Due to a new National Law that went into effect on July 1, 2007, ALL consumer mattresses MUST be flame proof. This involves the addition of flame retardant chemicals in ALL mattresses. The ONLY way to avoid this is to claim an exemption and that requires a doctors prescription.
